Internal Communication: Lower Self, Higher Self, Gods and Demons
Kundalini Yoga Workshop and Mantra Concert with Sat Siri Singh
9th February 2014

Picture
A central aspect of the sacred teachings is that Divinity is within and without, but cannot be found outside unless realised inside. Guru Ram Das writes: “Those who search for this treasure outside of the body, in other places, are foolish.” Some teachings say that everything that we encounter outside is simply a reflection of our internal state and process. Therefore, practicing efficient internal communication is the key to clarity, relationship and prayer. In this workshop we will look into this aspect of the teachings, explore practical ways to connect to our true identity, intuition and vitality, turn our demons into servants, and let go of the Piscean concept of a God outside.

Dying to Yourself - A Sacred Women's Workshop
with Elaine Akal Dev and Amanda Lyons
17th November 2013

Picture
"Only if your meditation has brought you a light that shines in every night will even death not be a death to you but a door to the divine' Osho

Life cannot exist without death, just like Yin and Yang, Masculine and Feminine, it is an eternal polarity. All things come to an end. However, endings are painful so we tend to see death as something we don't want, this blocks our relationship to it as an integral part of our reality. Death is not the enemy, death is a part of life, without it there could be no life. Dying to our habits and ways of being that are limiting to us it can bring a positive death and can offer us the chance to bring new life and growth. Through Dance, Kundalini yoga, meditation, ritual, poetry and journeying we will explore how we can become friends with death and invite her into our daily life in order to live more fully.

Working with Magic and Shadow
A Kundalini Yoga and Shakespeare Workshop
with Sat Charan Kaur
27th October 2013

Picture
By using Kundalini Yoga kriya and meditation, woven around a story we will delve into our shadow, that part of us we don't always want to admit to yet is an integral part of our light. When we shine, we create shadow. The brighter the light, the more present the shadow. It is important to welcome this other, darker side into our lives as, once it is recognised, its power lessens as we stop fighting it and give it its deserved place. We will also look at that part of us that is, sometimes, even harder to accept: our Magic Self, this being that does our bidding, that creates the magic around us and is infinitely powerful. Along the way, in this workshop, we will be guided by Prospero, Ariel and Caliban from Shakespeare's The Tempest  using their relationships as examples.

Sat Charan Kaur has been a Kundalini Yoga teacher for over ten years and in that time as added the power of Story and the joy of Play to her practice.  With humour and kindness, Sat Charan guides you to deeper, more fulfilling places within you and your life so that you can experience the fullness of who you are.

Shadow Puppets
Kundalini Yoga Workshop with with Amanda Lyons
8th September 2013

Picture
When our shadow selves and inner critics come out to play, we become the puppets being danced by their clever manipulation of our strings. The voice of the inner critic can be so persistent that we begin to believe it is our only voice. Our shadows are so well hidden from our own view that we often are blissfully unaware of our less pleasant traits (until someone has the courtesy of pointing them out to us, or mirroring them back to us).

In this 5 Hour Workshop we will join in the game, play with these pesky aspects, entertain them with Kundalini Yoga, dance, poetry and play dough. We will get to know them in a light yet potent way, discover their gifts and cut the strings.

Transformation through Celebration
Kundalini Yoga and Shakti Dance Workshop and a Devotional Singing Concert with Benjahmin
8th September 2013

Picture
A workshop combining the Yogic disciplines of Kundalini Yoga and Shakti Dance which both come from the lineage of teachings that Yogi Bhajan shared.
Transformation within the Tantric Yogic Fire can be painful and challenging. Yet within this transformation lies the truth that the only thing which will burn in the fire is the very thing which we wish to let go of.

As we embrace a deeper understanding of the Karmas, Samskaras, mental blocks and constructs of the Lower Realms we courageously and willingly enter the 'PuriFire' with consciousness and faith that we will come out the other side ever closer to understanding the Soul and our purpose in life. Therefore, let us Celebrate the Transformation with a commitment to the changeless consciousness that imbues every aspect of our lives, subtle and gross

Followed by an evening of devotional singing using Sacred Mantras and Songs of the Heart.

Benjahmin been practicing the technology of Kundalini Yoga for over 8 years and qualified in his Teacher Trainer Level 1 with I-SKY (International School of Kundalini Yoga) in 2006, Level 2 in 2010 and is in an Associate Teacher Trainer with I-SKY UK. He is a qualified Kundalini Yoga Therapist under the guidance of Guru Dharam Singh Khalsa and trained in the Yogic Art of Shakti Dance Teacher under the tutelage of Sara Avtar Olivier in 2011. With his love of the Sacred Sound Current (Shabd Guru), music and singing he brings a devotional and poignant energy to his sharing of the Sacred Science that is Kundalini Yoga and Shakti Dance. His intuitive, compassionate and courageous approach to life aims to give the student, patient or listener an empowering, nurturing and inspirational Yogic healing experience.

In Praise of Paradox
Workshop with Hari Har Ji

Picture
We like to think that all problems can be solved, that there is an answer to everything and we somehow feel pressured to decide for this or that.  But decision often invites even more duality, if not that then what......??

Some dilemmas have no answer, we live in a paradoxical world and it is possible to be content in that paradox.  Walking the razor's edge is the way of the yogi and it is the perfect place to access the neutral mind. You don't have to decide anything but you need to KNOW everything....such is the joy of the neutral mind and intuition, our tool is Kundalini Yoga, the yoga of awareness.

Hari Har Ji is a KRI certified Kundalini Yoga teacher registered with KYTA UK and IKYTA, the national and international Kundalini Yoga Teachers Associations. She is an international Mentoring Lead Teacher Trainer with the Aquarian Training Academy (ATA). She has trained teachers in the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Russia over many years and teaches her own intensive workshops in the UK and Europe. Hari Har Ji is also a spiritual teacher and healer and teaches psychic development and guided meditation. Her clarity and empathy gives her a depth of understanding and quality of teaching which touches many hearts. Together with associates she has founded The Sahej Academy to open a space where people can find answers, peace and joy in an often stressful and seemingly senseless world. http://www.sahej-academy.org.uk/index.htm

Stress Mangagement and Personal Productivity Enhancement
with Ajeetdev Singh and Ajeetdev Kaur

Picture
In today’s accelerated world, more is expected of the individual than ever before. We are overworked, over-stimulated, driven by fear of failure and generally are on sensory and emotional overload. Stress-related disease is endemic. In most cases stress sneaks up on us without being noticed. Unhealthy stress impairs our ability to regenerate, achieve our human potential and excel in our private and professional lives.

Kundalini yoga is a powerful type of yoga that’s quickly gaining recognition as a way to align your physical fitness with your mental strength. An important benefit it offers is short-term and long-term stress relief. If the stresses of everyday life are taking over, you may want to take a look into Kundalini yoga and all it has to offer.

This workshop offers:

- A general understanding of the physiology and psychology of chronic stress
- Techniques to map your own stress profile and to recognise stress in others
- A number of current behavioural and psychological strategies to manage stress
- A number of mind-body techniques in the form of Kundalini yoga and meditation to help you increase your vitality and productivity

Free Your Voice
Workshop and Concert
with Sat Siri Singh

Picture
By virtue of its numerology of number 5, our physical body stores our karma, unprocessed experiences and pending challenges. Within the system of the 7 chakras, the throat chakra has the same numerology as the physical body within the system of the 10 bodies, it has the same potential for working the karma and holistic healing. In Kundalini Yoga, the subtle energy channels in the body are called naadis, the flow of prana is described as a sound current. Simple vocal exercises can cleanse the naadis, balance and stimulate all chakras, remove blocks in the throat chakra, and liberate the voice. We will practice Kundalini Yoga kriya, meditation and vocal exercises to regain full volume and vibrancy of our voice and restore the original power of our word. You will feel centred and invigorated in your self.

During this meditation concert you can sing along (lyrics in transliteration will be provided) or just immerse yourself in the musical message of some divine hymns and raagas to the sound of an ancient instrument. “Friend, sing continually the songs of joy, and sorrow and suffering will not afflict you.” - Guru Amar Das, Anand Sahib, Siri Guru Granth Sahib

Breaking Limits with Har Nal Kaur

Picture
This workshop is designed to help you overcome your fears and parts of your mind that limit you and keep you from reaching your true potential.  As your thoughts and emotions can run you,  these can create suffering and a perpetuation of sabotaging habits. One of the simplest ways to help master them is through the food you eat!

In addition to a Kundalini Yoga Kriya and Meditation there will be a short lecture on Yogic Fasting. Fasting is a powerful tool for healing and strengthening the body and often the physical cleansing of a fast is accompanied by a mental and emotional cleansing as well.

We will explore all the benefits, tips on preparation and how to complete and come off a Yogic Fast. This workshop is for ALL. We will serve a delicious vegetarian lunch in the break.

Har Nal Kaur is experienced in all of these mono-diets and looks forward to sharing in combination with some true Kundalini Yoga and meditation to inspire you to Go For Your True Self. If you want to know more about Har Nal Kaur and her workshops and courses go to http://www.harnalkaur.co.uk/

After the dark winter months, nature is awakening to new spring growth.  Our dreams and visions, mulched and incubated over the long winter are ready to be birthed. Spring is the time for personal growth and expansion, a time to open up to the things in our lives which facilitate growth, development and evolution. We honour the goddess of fertility and spring, Eostre. Through Kundalini yoga, dance, poetry and guided meditation we will explore our own personal growth and how to call in what is necessary to expand and embrace the dreams and visions we have for our year ahead.

This Women’s Workshop was run by our very own Amanda Lyons and Elaine Akal Dev.

50% of our proceeds go to ‘Manchester rape crisis’ in support of our sisters in need.
